With an estimated population of about 367 million, West Africa is the biggest population center in Africa. However, more than 80% of the population still rely on biomass for cooking. According to figures from Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the four major countries of Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal and Ivory Coast account for more than 85% of the total LPG consumption of 1.2 million tonnes consumed in the region.
With support and endorsement from the World LPG Association and working closely with various key LPG stakeholders in the region, LPG West Africa is a regional conference and exhibition that aims to be an international platform for regional stakeholders to meet, network and share idea with their international counterparts. The theme for this year’s conference is Building LPG Business in West Africa
Speakers at the conference amongst others, include: James Rockall Managing Director, World LPG Association; Mr. Renzo Bee, Chairman (Policy, Regulation and Development Advisory Group) The Global LPG Partnership; Engr. Mrs Betty Ugona, Executive Director, Storage Nigeria Pipeline and Storage Company, (NPSC) Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation; Mr Keefer Douglas, Director, Natural Gas Liquids Research and Consulting, IHS Markit; Ms. Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, President, Nigerian Gas Association.
Discussions will anchor on various sub-themes including: Infrastructure Investment and LPG Business Opportunities in Senegal and Cote’d Ivories; Opportunities for Businesses and Investments in Nigeria; Opportunities and Challenges to Investments in Nigeria LPG Business; Alternative Usage for LPG in West Africa, amongst others.
